About Us
Who | Why | and beyond...
Next to my absolute, unconditional love for Arabian horses, my parents can attest to the fact that I did not walk but gallop through my early childhood, I always had the need to create. If it wasn’t a piece of paper and a pencil I dragged around, it was something else that ended up being forever changed by my personal vision. It didn’t matter if the next person liked it, it had to live up to the image I had in my head, create for creation's sake. So the horse was my first and probably the one that never let me go.
Inspiration can be all around me, a walk on the beach, a ride in the dark, cool forest, next to a bubbling creek, underwater colors, rusted pipes, even scents.
There aren’t enough media to choose from, there is only a lack of time. I have always been restless, in need for something to do with my fingers and if nothing was available there was always my head. I would drive, walk, cook or simple wake up in the middle of the night with an idea spinning and twirling out of orbit.
During my studies, I hold a Masters Degree in Architecture, designing new home concepts for our ever changing environment, needs and the often forgotten children and women that make a house, I often couldn’t sleep, simply thinking and changing drafts in my mind until the witching hours.
Today I still wake up in the middle of the night chewing on a new way to throw a bowl or achieve a certain dressage move...
I strongly believe you do improve and learn as much practicing in your head as you do by actually doing. Chiseling on things long enough mentally has always helped me perfecting it the next morning.
Does that sound weird? I believe those of you with a bit of an over-thinking personality with a tendency to perfectionism who create on a daily basis, know what I am talking about.
I have come from drawing to photography, from architecture to graphic design, from working with yarn to creating yarn, from painting on a canvas to painting on fiber and from admiring the perfect bowl to throwing one myself and the fun never ceases, this is a road for me that is exciting and ever so surprising on a daily basis.
